Who's That Knocking? is an album released on Verve/Folkways FV-9005 around 1964–65, from the Verve/Folkways imprint that bridged the commercial folk-revival market of the early 1960s and the Folkways ethnographic tradition. The Verve/Folkways label — a joint venture between jazz imprint Verve and Moe Asch's Folkways Records — issued recordings that served the urban folk-revival audience's appetite for traditional acoustic material from bluegrass, old-time, and country blues traditions. The title suggests either a door-knocking spiritual in the gospel tradition or a traditional call-and-response folk piece, both of which would have been appropriate for the Verve/Folkways catalogue's documentation of archaic and semi-archaic performance styles that the folk revival had brought to renewed national attention.
