Coffee Creek (self-released, 2015) is the second album from the Slocan Ramblers, a Toronto-based Canadian bluegrass band whose work received a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Best Traditional Album. The album was recorded live off the floor and produced by Chris Coole of the Lonesome Ace Stringband, capturing the ensemble's direct traditional-bluegrass approach with minimal studio mediation. The catalog personnel entry contains a data discrepancy: Jeff Scroggins and Greg Blake are associated with the Colorado-based band Jeff Scroggins & Colorado, not the Slocan Ramblers; the accurate lineup for this recording includes Darryl Poulsen, Frank Evans, Adrian Gross on mandolin, and Alastair Whitehead on bass. The album reflects the strength of the Toronto old-time and traditional bluegrass scene, which has produced several internationally recognized acts in the decades since the roots revival took hold in urban Canada.
