Coming of Age is a 1998 album released by the Rarely Herd on Pinecastle Records (PRC 1084). The Athens County, Ohio band—Jim Stack (guitar, lead vocals), Alan Stack (mandolin, fiddle, vocals), and Jeff Weaver (bass, vocals)—is augmented by guest banjo player Don Wayne Reno (son of the late Don Reno) and dobro ace Rob Ickes, with production by Ronnie Reno. The band's fifth Pinecastle album, Coming of Age mixes original material with covers including Bob Dylan's "One More Night," reflecting the eclectic reach that distinguishes the Rarely Herd from more strictly traditional acts. Note: the catalog credits "Don Reno," which refers to Don Wayne Reno; his father, Don Reno Sr., died in 1984.
