The Chieftains' Down the Old Plank Road: The Nashville Sessions, released on RCA Victor (09026-63971-2) in September 2002, is the Irish traditional ensemble's exploration of the shared heritage between Celtic and Appalachian musical traditions. Recorded at Sound Emporium in Nashville, the album pairs the Chieftains with Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett, and Martina McBride, among others. The Del McCoury Band—Del McCoury (guitar, vocals), Ronnie McCoury (mandolin), Rob McCoury (banjo), Jason Carter (fiddle), and Mike Bub (bass)—appears as a featured ensemble on "Rain and Snow." Note: catalog personnel lists the McCoury Band, reflecting their track-specific guest role; the primary artist is The Chieftains, and the DB artist attribution appears to be a data error.
