Live at the Old Quarter, Houston, Texas is a 1977 double album released by Townes Van Zandt on Tomato Records (TOM-2-7001), capturing five nights of solo performances at the Old Quarter bar in Houston in July 1973. Recorded on a portable four-track by Earl Willis, the twenty-six-song set presents Van Zandt (guitar, vocals) entirely alone. The recordings sat for four years before Kevin Eggers released them on his new Tomato label. Widely regarded as one of the finest live folk recordings ever made, the album is frequently cited as Van Zandt's definitive statement—a raw, unmediated document of his songcraft and stage presence at the height of his powers.
