Long List of Heartaches (Rounder 11661 0583 2, 2007) is a Rounder Records album from the Grascals, the Nashville-based traditional bluegrass quintet formed in 2004 largely by former Dolly Parton sidemen and Music Row veterans. Terry Eldredge and Jamie Johnson handle lead vocals alongside Terry Smith on bass; David Talbot, Carol Johnson, and Martha Adcock fill out the ensemble. The Grascals combined technical bluegrass precision with a Nashville production sensibility that made them broadly accessible without sacrificing core acoustic performance values. The band had already won consecutive IBMA Entertainer of the Year awards before this release, and the album documents them during the height of their early commercial and critical momentum — a traditional-leaning Nashville bluegrass outfit at the peak of its first run of national visibility.
