Making Tracks Home (2015) is the sixth full-length album from Taarka, the Lyons, Colorado string band built around the husband-and-wife duo of David Tiller (mandolin, octave mandolin, tenor guitar, vocals) and Enion Pelta-Tiller (five-string violin, vocals). The record folds bluegrass, Celtic, classical, and gypsy-jazz influences into the couple's own strain of chamber folk, with the two trading lead vocals across the album.
The core duo is joined track-by-track by a rotating cast of players, including guitarists Ross Martin, Grant Gordy, and Eric Wiggs, bassists Sam Grisman, Ian Hutchison, and Greg Garrison, banjo players Dusty Rider and Jayme Stone, and Ron Miles on flugelhorn. Their reading of Gillian Welch's “Look at Miss Ohio” features Tiller and Pelta-Tiller backed by Martin's guitar and Grisman's upright bass.
