My Native Home is the 1985 debut album by the Nashville Bluegrass Band, one of the most musically sophisticated groups to emerge from Nashville's acoustic music community. The band — centered on Stuart Duncan's fiddle, Alan O'Bryant's banjo, Pat Enright's guitar — brought unusual breadth of reference to bluegrass: African-American gospel, string band music, old-time, and traditional country all flowed into their sound without disrupting its essential bluegrass structure. The Nashville Bluegrass Band won multiple IBMA awards across their career and were early exemplars of the idea that the music could be simultaneously learned, adventurous, and deeply traditional.
