The Dillards' Old Road New Again, released on Pinecastle Records (PRC-1246) in August 2020 and produced by Bil Vorndick, is the band's 17th studio album and their first of original material since 1991—a 29-year gap. Rodney Dillard plays guitar and sings; Beverly Cotten Dillard, clawhammer banjo and vocals; Tony Wray, lead guitar and banjo. Sam Bush guests on mandolin and fiddle across several tracks; additional guests include Don Henley, Ricky Skaggs, Herb Pedersen, Bernie Leadon, Sharon White, and Cheryl White. Note: catalog personnel lists David Johnson and Raymond Huffmeister; neither is confirmed in published sources. The Dillards—foundational to the 1960s folk-bluegrass crossover and culturally iconic through The Andy Griffith Show—return to the studio in fully engaged form after nearly three decades away.
