Compilation · 2006 · Gusto GT 0623-2

"Sings Country, Gospel, Bluegrass," released in 2006 on Gusto Records (GT 0623-2), is Christie Lynn's second album, produced by Porter Wagoner, who had discovered her as a teenager singing on the Grand Ole Opry stage and hired her as a road-show performer for seven years. Wagoner assembled a strong supporting cast including Bryan Sutton (guitar), Ronnie McCoury (mandolin), Rob Ickes (dobro), Charlie Cushman (banjo), and Ralph Stanley (vocals on "Model Church") — bridging Opry-generation country and the contemporary IBMA-circuit bluegrass world. The album is a notable document of that generational handoff. Note: the personnel cache attributes the primary artist as Porter Wagoner and Ralph Stanley and lists Richard Bennett — Wagoner produced but did not lead the record, and Bennett's presence is not confirmed by any available source.
