Soon Be Time cover

Soon Be Time, released in 2006, is a project from Bruce Molsky, the New York-born fiddler who became one of the most important figures in the old-time revival by combining deep archival knowledge with playing of unusual emotional immediacy. Molsky spent decades learning from older musicians in the Appalachian tradition, and his recordings function as both artistic statements and acts of cultural transmission. 'Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie' and 'Lazy John' represent the old-time and early country repertoire that Molsky approached with a fiddler's rather than a scholar's instinct. His playing carries the rhythmic drive and tonal rawness of the pre-bluegrass tradition, a reminder of the world out of which Monroe and Scruggs built something new.
