This World Oft Can Be cover

This World Oft Can Be, released in 2013 on Rounder (9135), is Della Mae's Rounder debut and the album that put the all-female Boston quintet on the national bluegrass map. Celia Woodsmith (guitar/lead vocals), Courtney Hartman (lead guitar/vocals), Jenni Lyn Gardner (mandolin), Kimber Ludiker (fiddle), and Shelby Means (bass) work a program that pushes bluegrass instrumentation toward modern Americana songwriting, with guests Mary Bragg on harmonies, Jen Gunderman on accordion, and Jamie Dick on drums. The record earned a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album at the 56th Grammys and the band's IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year award in 2013 — a rare double recognition that announced the group as one of the most consequential younger acts of the decade.
