Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore
Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore are a Colorado husband-and-wife duo working a wide seam of American roots music — folk, bluegrass, blues, gospel, and pop standards — built on her singing and his guitar playing.
- Mollie O’Brien, born October 25, 1952, in Wheeling, West Virginia, is a sister of the musician Tim O’Brien and worked as a duo with him before forming her own bands.
- She moved to Boulder in 1980; the two met at the Denver Folklore Center in 1981, married, and raised two daughters.
- While she toured and appeared regularly on A Prairie Home Companion, Moore worked as an energy consultant and stayed home with the children.
- They began performing together as a duo in 2006, after both daughters had finished high school.
- Released Saints and Sinners (2010), Love Runner (2014), and Lost In the Crowd (2025), along with the live album 900 Baseline.
- Recorded Daughters (2015) with their two daughters.
- O’Brien shared a 1997 Grammy for her part in Sugar Hill’s True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe.
