Abner Silver was a New York-born Tin Pan Alley composer who, with Mitchell Parish and Jerry Livingston, wrote the 1937 Western-swing standard “My Window Faces the South,” and whose 1924 “Yes! We Have No Bananas” with Frank Silver and Irving Cohn became one of the bestselling sheet-music titles of the 1920s.
