Jim Davis
Jim Davis was the co-author, with banjoist Don Reno, of the bluegrass fiddle-tune-with-vocal “Barefoot Nellie,” introduced by Reno, Red Smiley, and the Tennessee Cutups in 1955. The song has since been recorded by Porter Wagoner, the Kentucky Colonels, Old & In the Gray, and Jim Lauderdale & High Fidelity, among many others.
