A Vision, released on Sugar Hill in 1998, was the solo debut of Don Rigsby, the Kentucky mandolinist and high tenor who had spent the 1990s as a central voice in the Lonesome River Band. A largely sacred record, it surrounds Rigsby with an extraordinary cast — Ralph Stanley, J.D. Crowe, and Ricky Skaggs among them — yet never lets the guest list overshadow the singing at its center.
