Always Never Enough was released on 19 July 2005 on Rebel Records (REB-CD 1811). It was the second of four albums that Kenny and Amanda Smith made for Rebel, after House Down the Block, and followed much the same format. Kenny Smith plays lead guitar and sings, Amanda Smith plays rhythm guitar and sings, Steve Huber plays banjo, and the two new members of the band were Jason Robertson on mandolin and Alan Bartram on bass and vocals. The band produced the album.
Amanda Smith sings lead on seven of the songs and Kenny on five. The program combines new songs from Tim Stafford, Steve Gulley and Becky Buller with older numbers by Carter Stanley, Webb Pierce and Mel Tillis. Kenny had met Amanda at a Lonesome River Band concert during his six years with that group, and the band won the IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year award in 2003.
