At Edwards Barn (Rounder 11661-0652-2, 2010) is a live album by Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen, recorded on 7 November 2009 at Edwards Barn in Nipomo, California, at a concert staged as a benefit for a local church. Hillman, a founding member of the Byrds (as their original bassist), the Flying Burrito Brothers and the Desert Rose Band, plays mandolin; Pedersen, formerly of the Dillards and the Desert Rose Band, sings harmony and plays guitar. They are joined by David Mansfield on fiddle, Larry Park on guitar and Bill Bryson on bass.
The fifteen tracks revisit Hillman’s career. The Byrds are represented by “Turn, Turn, Turn” and “Eight Miles High,” the Flying Burrito Brothers by “Wheels” and “Sin City,” and the Desert Rose Band by “Love Reunited,” while “Desert Rose” first appeared on Hillman’s 1984 solo album of the same name. Cover songs include the Louvin Brothers’ “If I Could Only Win Your Love” and Buck Owens’s “Together Again.”
