Blue Ridge is a 1985 Sugar Hill Records album (SH-3747) co-billed equally to Jonathan Edwards and The Seldom Scene, recorded at Bias Recording in Springfield, Virginia. The Seldom Scene contributed their working lineup — John Duffey (mandolin, vocals), Ben Eldridge (banjo), Mike Auldridge (dobro, steel guitar), Tom Gray (bass), and Phil Rosenthal (guitar) — alongside New England folk-rock singer-songwriter Jonathan Edwards on guitar, harmonica, and lead vocals. Edwards, known for his 1971 hit "Sunshine," brought a country-folk directness that found a natural fit with the Seldom Scene's progressive bluegrass sensibility, and the combination produced one of Sugar Hill's most warmly received crossover collaborations of the decade.
