The Cleverlys' Blue, released on Mountain Home Music Company (MH-17672) in March 2019, is the Arkansas comedy-bluegrass family band's studio album of acoustic bluegrass arrangements of contemporary pop material. Dr. Digger Cleverly plays guitar and sings lead; Sock Cleverly, fiddle; DVD Cleverly, banjo; Cub Cleverly, mandolin; and Ricky Lloyd Cleverly, bass. The band's signature approach—deadpan rural presentation of songs including Eiffel 65's "Blue (Da Ba Dee)," Justin Bieber's "Baby," and Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable"—is executed with genuine instrumental fluency across the ensemble. Note: catalog personnel lists Jean Ritchie and Vernon Dean Cleverly; neither is documented in published sources for this album, and both entries may reflect a data error. Mountain Home also distributes Michael Cleveland and Sideline.
