Bluegrass is a 2023 album released by Willie Nelson on Legacy Recordings, presenting twelve Nelson original compositions reimagined with a bluegrass ensemble of Nashville all-stars. Nelson (guitar, vocals), ninety years old at time of release, is joined by Barry Bales (bass), Ron Block (banjo), Aubrey Haynie (fiddle), Rob Ickes (dobro), Josh Martin (guitar), Seth Taylor (mandolin), Dan Tyminski (mandolin), and Mickey Raphael (harmonica), produced by Buddy Cannon. The project draws on the Alison Krauss and Union Station orbit of players to frame Nelson's beloved songbook in an acoustic string-band context, yielding his 151st studio album and underscoring his enduring place at the intersection of country music's multiple traditions.
