Busy Bee Cafe is a 1982 album by Marty Stuart released on Sugar Hill Records (SH 3726), recorded at Bull Run Studios in Ashland, Tennessee. Note: the catalog lists Doc Watson as the first-named personnel, but SH 3726 is Stuart's album; Watson and others appear as featured guests. Stuart (guitar, mandolin, vocals)—then twenty-three and already a Lester Flatt alumnus—assembled a remarkable cast: Doc Watson (guitar, harmonica), Merle Watson (guitar), Johnny Cash (guitar, vocals on three tracks), Earl Scruggs (banjo), Carl Jackson (banjo, guitar), Jerry Douglas (dobro), and T. Michael Coleman (bass). The album closes with "Boogie for Clarence," Stuart's original instrumental tribute to flat-pick visionary Clarence White, who died in 1973.
