Calling Me Home is a 2012 Sugar Hill Records album (SUG-CD 4085) by West Virginia–born vocalist Kathy Mattea, produced by Bryan Sutton as a deliberate return to Appalachian roots. Sutton contributes guitar, mandolin, banjo, and octave mandolin; Stuart Duncan plays fiddle, banjo, and bowed zither; Pat Flynn adds guitar; Byron House provides bass; and Tim Lauer and Jim Brock round out the ensemble. Inspired by Mattea's family history in West Virginia coal country, the album draws on hymns, ballads, and traditional songs connected to that heritage. Note: the catalog attributes this album to Bryan Sutton, Stuart Duncan, and Pat Flynn as co-equal primary artists, but this is a Kathy Mattea solo album on which those three serve as her principal sidemen.
