Carolina Road (Blue Circle BCR 006, 2007) is the debut album from Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, released July 31, 2007, on the Franklin, Tennessee independent label Blue Circle Records — championed by country legends Tom T. and Dixie Hall, who championed the group. Lorraine Jordan (mandolin, vocals) anchors the record alongside Josh Goforth (fiddle, mandolin, vocals), with remaining lineup credits resting with the physical liner notes. The band's founding identity — driving Piedmont traditional bluegrass led by the first female mandolin player to receive a national bluegrass spotlight — is fully established here, and the album's reception led directly to a Rural Rhythm Records deal around 2010. Jordan, based in Garner, North Carolina, had spent years building a regional following before this debut brought the band to a wider catalog audience.
