Cold Dog Soup, released by Sugar Hill in 1999, is the Guy Clark album that introduced “Sis Draper,” his collaboration with Shawn Camp about a traveling Arkansas fiddler, along with “Red River,” “Die Tryin’” and the title song. Recorded acoustically in Nashville with Clark’s regular circle of players and co-writers, the album continued the spare, conversational style of his Sugar Hill years.
