Cornbread Nation is a 2005 album released by Tim O'Brien on Sugar Hill Records (SUG-CD 4005), recorded at Omnisound Recording Studio in Nashville with an expansive cast of collaborators. O'Brien (guitar, vocals) leads a session featuring Charlie Cushman (banjo), Dan Tyminski (guitar), Dennis Crouch (bass), and Jerry Douglas (resonator guitar), alongside contributions from Chris Thile (mandolin), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Darrell Scott, and Mollie O'Brien, among others. The album blends bluegrass, country, and acoustic Americana in the eclectic style O'Brien has pursued since his Hot Rize years, drawing freely on traditional forms while incorporating original material. Cornbread Nation reflects the broad collaborative network surrounding O'Brien's mid-2000s Nashville career.
