Couchville Sessions, released in 2016 on Full Light Records, is a Darrell Scott Americana set built from living-room sessions Scott tracked between 2001 and 2002 at his home on Couchville Street, then shelved for fifteen years before revisiting and overdubbing them for release. Scott (vocals, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, vibes) leads a core band of Danny Thompson on upright bass, Kenny Malone on drums and percussion, Dan Dugmore on pedal and lap steel, and Bill Payne added later on piano and organ; guests include the late Guy Clark on narration, Peter Rowan, John Cowan, Dirk Powell, and Shad Cobb. The arrangements span rock, folk, country, and blues in relaxed, mostly-live takes — closer to a song-writer's notebook than a studio statement.
