Don’t Stop the Music was issued by Rounder in 1990 as Rounder 0245, on CD and cassette, credited to Del McCoury. It was recorded and mixed at Bias Recorders in Springfield, Virginia, with Ken Irwin as producer, Bill McElroy as engineer and Peter Wernick writing the liner notes. Del McCoury sings lead and plays guitar, his son Ronnie plays mandolin and sings harmony, Jon Glik plays lead fiddle and Warren Blair harmony fiddle (Blair also sings), and Jerry McCoury plays bass and sings. Del had joined Bill Monroe’s Blue Grass Boys in February 1963, and Ronnie had joined his father’s band in 1981.
The fourteen songs include “Trainwreck of Emotion,” “Lights on the Hill,” “You’ll Find Her Name Written There,” “Highway of Pain,” “I Feel the Blues Moving In” and the title song “Don’t Stop the Music.”
