"Duckpin," released in July 2018 as a self-produced recording, is the breakout album by Baltimore acoustic ensemble Charm City Junction, debuting at number six on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart. The group — named for the Baltimore variant of bowling — plays at the intersection of bluegrass, Celtic, and old-time traditions: fiddle and mandolin, clawhammer banjo, button accordion, and upright bass. Patrick McAvinue leads on fiddle and mandolin alongside banjoist Brad Kolodner, accordionist Sean McComiskey, and bassist Alex Lacquement. Bluegrass Today praised the album for the band's seamless blending of American and Irish traditions, and the Billboard placement confirmed crossover appeal well beyond the bluegrass core audience. Note: personnel cache lists Joe Walsh and Madison Morris, who are not documented members of this lineup.
