Patrick McAvinue
Patrick McAvinue is a Maryland-born fiddler whose teenage seat with Audie Blaylock & Redline at age 16 led to a long tenure with Dailey & Vincent and a current chair in the United States Navy Band — a 2017 IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year.
- Born April 4, 1988; native of Hereford, Maryland.
- Began fiddle at age 7 after classical violin training.
- Bachelor of Music in jazz performance from Towson University.
- Joined Audie Blaylock & Redline at age 16 in 2004; recorded seven albums with the band.
- Co-founded Charm City Junction in 2014 — a bluegrass/Irish hybrid with accordion.
- Joined Dailey & Vincent's touring band in 2016, replacing B.J. Cherryholmes.
- Won 2015 IBMA Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year and 2017 IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year.
- Currently serves in the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C.; fiddle credited on the Sid Meier's Civilization VI soundtrack.
