Duluth is a 2008 album released by Trampled by Turtles on Banjodad Records, the Duluth, Minnesota string-band quintet's fourth full-length recording. Dave Simonett (guitar, lead vocals), Dave Carroll (banjo, vocals), Erik Berry (mandolin, vocals), Ryan Young (fiddle, vocals), and Tim Saxhaug (bass, vocals) deliver a set of original songs that established the template the band would refine across subsequent recordings: acoustic bluegrass instrumentation applied to a rock-influenced singer-songwriter sensibility. Produced by Rich Mattson and recorded at Sparta Sound in Sparta, Minnesota, Duluth catches the band in the early stages of the momentum that would carry them to national attention with the following year's Trouble.
