Stuart produced the album as a raw, reverb-soaked evocation of late-1950s and early-1960s Nashville Sound, backed by Kenny Vaughan (electric guitar), Ralph Mooney (pedal steel), Harry Stinson (drums, harmony vocals), and Paul Martin (bass). The record leans into rockabilly, honky-tonk, and the ghost of Sun Records while centering Stuart's deep-roots purism. It won the Grammy Award for Best Country Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards in 2011 — a rare validation of uncompromising traditional country sensibility in the modern Nashville marketplace.
