I Can Go to Them cover

I Can Go to Them is an all-gospel album by Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, released on 19 November 2021 by Pinecastle Records (PRC 1257). The band dedicated it to their mothers, and the artwork acknowledges each of them. Its twelve songs mix new material with traditional favorites, and the sessions were held at Old Stage Studio in Garner, North Carolina.

Jordan plays mandolin, Ben Greene banjo, Matt Hooper fiddle and Kevin Lamm bass, with Randy Graham and Allen Dyer on guitar and vocals. Jordan wrote “Lessons of the Book.” Albert Brumley is the writer of “Jesus Hold My Hand” and “I Heard My Mother Call My Name in Prayer,” and William York wrote three songs: “Travel, Travel On,” “Further Along” and “He Will Set Your Fields on Fire.” Dyer takes the lead on “Brush Arbors,” written by Gordon Addis and Darrell Edwards, and Jordan sings lead on “Jesus Hold My Hand.” “I Cannot Bring Them Back (But I Can Go to Them),” by H.W. Van Hoose, is sung a cappella and was the band’s first a cappella recording. The album closes with the Frankie and Walter Bailes song “Traveling the Highway Home,” built around the vocals of Graham, a former member of the Bluegrass Cardinals.
