In My View cover

"In My View," released in February 1996 on Rebel Records (REB-CD 1727), is the solo debut of Charlie Sizemore — a Virginia singer of rare subtlety who spent nearly a decade as lead vocalist for Ralph Stanley's Clinch Mountain Boys, having replaced Keith Whitley when Whitley departed for country stardom. The album features Danny Barnes (mandolin), Will Parsons (banjo), and John Berry (bass), with fiddle from Rickie Simpkins and dobro from Jimmy Stewart. Several tracks are original co-writes alongside traditional and Stanley-associated repertoire. Country Standard Time cited Sizemore as one of the most underrated vocalists in bluegrass, and the record stands as a long-overdue showcase for a singer who had long anchored one of the genre's essential bands.
