In My View was released by Rebel in 1996 (REB-CD 1727) and credited to the Charlie Sizemore Band. It was recorded at Clubhouse Recording in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Sizemore, who sings lead and plays guitar, had made albums since the 1980s, among them Congratulations (1986), Call of the Honky Tonk (1989) and Back Home (1994), and he had spent nearly a decade with Ralph Stanley’s Clinch Mountain Boys, where he took the place of guitarist Keith Whitley.

The band is Danny Barnes on mandolin and high harmony, Will Parsons on banjo and low harmony, Rickie Simpkins on fiddle, Jimmy Stewart on Dobro and John Berry on bass; Berry adds a low harmony part on two songs, “I Want My Rib Back” and “Are You Waiting Just for Me.” The songs come from a range of writers: Tom T. Hall wrote “That’s How I Got to Memphis,” Hugh Prestwood “Bristlecone Pine,” Ernest Tubb “Are You Waiting Just for Me” and Ralph Stanley “Let Me Love You One More Time.” Sizemore wrote “Made in the Shade (If the Tree Don’t Fall)” and co-wrote the title song with Melvin Besher and Tom Paden. “Ricket’s Reel” is an instrumental.
