Inner Journey, released in 2019 on Rounder (1166100681), is Darin and Brooke Aldridge's Rounder debut after their long run on Mountain Home. Darin Aldridge plays mandolin and sings; Brooke Aldridge sings lead. The supporting cast includes Carley Arrowood on fiddle and vocals, Mark Fain on bass (also co-producer), Aubrey Haynie on fiddle, Rob Ickes and Tommy White on Dobro, Ron Block, Matt Menefee on banjo, and Zeb Snyder on guitar; Statler Brother Jimmy Fortune adds guest vocals. The set is a polished blend of contemporary bluegrass, gospel, and country song, built around Brooke Aldridge's lead singing. The album entered the Billboard Bluegrass chart at No. 2 in its debut week, the highest opening of the duo's career to that point.
