Leftover Salmon: Live is a 2002 Compass Records album (7 4339-2) documenting the band in concert at the Fillmore Auditoriums in San Francisco and Denver and at their Salmonfest gathering in 2001. The nine-track set captures a lineup in transition: co-founders Drew Emmitt (mandolin, guitar, vocals) and Vince Herman (acoustic guitar, washboard, vocals) anchor alongside Mark Vann (banjo), Bill McKay (keyboards), and Greg Garrison (bass), who had recently joined replacing Tye North. The recording preserves the improvisational, genre-blending energy — bluegrass, Cajun, country, funk, and rock interleaving in live performance — that had earned Leftover Salmon a devoted following on the jam-band circuit since their emergence from the Colorado ski-resort scene of the late 1980s.
