Leylines (self-released, 2019) is Rising Appalachia's first collaboration with an outside producer — Joe Henry (Bonnie Raitt, Ani DiFranco) — and their first sessions recorded outside the American South, tracked over ten days at Panoramic House in Marin County, California. Core personnel: Leah Song (vocals, banjo, bodhran), Chloe Smith (vocals, guitar, fiddle, banjo), David Brown (bass, baritone guitar), Biko Casini (world percussion), and Duncan Wickel (fiddle, cello), with guest appearances from Ani DiFranco, Trevor Hall, and jazz trumpeter Maurice Turner. The album is considered Rising Appalachia's most fully realized statement of their global-folk synthesis. Note: the catalog's personnel entry lists Ben Isaacs and Calvin Durham, which does not match the documented lineup.
