Living the Dream is a 2016 album released by the Spinney Brothers on Mountain Fever Records (MFR 160429), the Nova Scotia duo's debut on the label. Allan Spinney (guitar, vocals) and Rick Spinney (banjo, vocals)—a family act from the Annapolis Valley with roots stretching back to 1992—are joined by Gary Dalrymple (mandolin) and Terry Poirier (bass), with producer Ron Stewart also contributing as a guest on fiddle and banjo. Additional guest dobro work by Rob Ickes adds further depth. The Spinney Brothers' twelfth recording, Living the Dream reflects the Canadian Maritimes' enduring attachment to traditional bluegrass and close-harmony singing in the Appalachian mold.
