Mr. Good 'n Country Music is a 1966 album by Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys released on Decca Records (DL 74769), later reissued on MCA (1088). The twelve-track LP compiles Nashville sessions spanning 1960 to 1966, recorded at Bradley Studio and Columbia Recording Studio, and showcases two distinct Sunny Mountain Boys lineups. A single 1961 Bradley Studio session pairs Martin (guitar, lead vocals) with Paul Williams (mandolin), Paul Craft (banjo), and Nashville session bassist Junior Huskey; the bulk of the album—nine tracks cut between 1965 and 1966 at Columbia Recording Studio—features banjo ace Bill Emerson alongside Earl Taylor or Bill Torbert on mandolin, fiddler Vernon Derrick, bassist Floyd "Lightnin'" Chance, and drummer Willie Ackerman. The album's commercial Nashville-country polish reflects Martin's ambitious mid-decade Decca sound alongside his trademark hard-driving vocal style.
