New Highway cover

New Highway, released by Mountain Home Music Company on February 17, 1998, is one of Larry Sparks's gospel projects from the late 1990s — an all-sacred program recorded at Horizon Studios in Arden, North Carolina. Sparks led on guitar and vocals with regular band members Scott Napier on mandolin and Jim Britton on banjo, supported by Tim Surrett on bass and David Johnson on fiddle and dobro. The program includes material by Homer and Bruce Jackson, songs from the Marshall Family, traditional sacred standards like Just a Closer Walk With Thee, and a bluegrass treatment of Mississippi Fred McDowell's Gotta Move. The album was nominated for a GMA Dove award.
