Tim Surrett is a North Carolina-born bassist, dobroist, and singer who has been a founding member of Balsam Range since 2007 and earlier sang lead and baritone with the Southern Gospel group The Kingsmen Quartet — a 2018 IBMA Bass Player of the Year and 2014 IBMA Mentor of the Year.
- Founding member of Balsam Range (formed 2007), playing upright bass and resonator guitar (dobro).
- Member of the Southern Gospel group The Kingsmen Quartet 1988–1996 and again 2002–2005, singing lead and baritone.
- Won IBMA Bass Player of the Year (2018; per Balsam Range bio also 2015).
- Won IBMA Mentor of the Year award in 2014.
- Co-founded Mountain Home Music Company in 1991 with Mickey Gamble.
- Works as a staff producer for Pisgah Ridge Records and Organic Records.
- Has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and Carnegie Hall.
- Inducted into the Southern Gospel Hall of Fame as a member of The Kingsmen.
