Next Go ’Round (Blue Canyon Boys BCB CD 005) is the fifth album by the Blue Canyon Boys, a Colorado bluegrass band founded in 2003 by Jason Hicks and Gary Dark. The band won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition in 2008. The Bluegrass Discography dates the self-released CD to 15 January 2013, and a 2014 profile in The Marquee says the album came out the previous year.

The lineup is Hicks on guitar, Chris Elliott on banjo, Gary Dark on mandolin and Drew Garrett on bass. Garrett engineered the album and, with the band, produced it; David Glasser mastered it. The disc has fifteen tracks, among them “Up on the Hill,” “Harbor of Love,” “Like a Heart That’s Grown Weary of the Blues,” “Darling Alalee,” “Roustabout” and “I Bid You Goodnight.” It is dedicated to the memories of David Hicks and Aileen Garrett.

Hicks told The Marquee that after his father’s sudden death in 2011 he realised that “Up on the Hill,” a song he had just written about burial beneath a walnut tree and songbirds, described what had happened. The magazine added that Elliott would leave the band on 1 October 2014 and be replaced by Ernie Martinez.
