The Cluster Pluckers' Old Time Gospel Favorites, released on Chapel Music Group (GHD 5164) in 1995, is the Nashville-based bluegrass gospel ensemble's studio record of close-harmony sacred material. Margaret Bailey sings lead; Mark Howard, guitar, mandolin, and vocals; Richard Bailey, banjo; Brent Truitt, mandolin; Al Perkins—a legendary Nashville session dobro and pedal-steel player—dobro; and Roy Huskey Jr., upright bass. The Cluster Pluckers formed in 1988 around a core of harmony vocalists and Nashville session specialists. The band's chapel-circuit distribution through Chapel Music Group and Madacy-affiliated repackaging placed their material within the Christian bookstore market while maintaining the hard-gospel bluegrass sound that defined their performing identity.
