Rollin’ (Rebel REB-1604, 1981) was the second of two albums Bill Grant and Delia Bell made for Rebel, after Bill Grant & Delia Bell (REB 1593) the year before. It was recorded at Gordon Reid Studios in Nashville and produced by Josh Graves. Grant plays mandolin and Bell guitar, and both sing on every track. The band is Gordon Reid on banjo, Joe Stuart on lead guitar and second fiddle, Benny Martin on fiddle, Joe Pointer on bass and Graves on dobro.

Grant and Bell, who were from the Hugo, Oklahoma, area, had begun singing together in 1959 and recorded for their own Kiamichi label as well as for County, Rebel, Rounder and Warner Bros. Nine of the twelve songs on this album are credited to Grant and Bell, among them the title song, “No One Else” and “The Rock Pile.” The others are Bill Bryson’s “The Girl at the Crossroads Bar,” “Stone Walls and Steel Bars” by Pennington and Marcum, and the traditional “I Am the Man, Thomas.”
