Rollin' (Rebel Records REB-1604, 1981) is the second Rebel album from Bill Grant and Delia Bell, the southeastern Oklahoma vocal duo, recorded at Gordon Reid Studios in Nashville and produced by Josh Graves. Grant plays mandolin and sings; Bell plays guitar and sings lead; Benny Martin plays fiddle; Joe Stuart plays lead guitar; Gordon Reid plays banjo; Joe Pointer holds the bass; and Graves contributes dobro alongside his production work. The album continues the close-harmony bluegrass approach Grant and Bell developed through their Kiamichi Mountain region career, supplemented here by distinguished session players. Graves, the father of bluegrass resonator guitar, anchors the production, and Benny Martin's celebrated fiddle adds one of the tradition's most distinguished voices to a recording that deepened Grant and Bell's standing as one of traditional bluegrass's most admired vocal partnerships.
