"Take a Little Time," recorded at Hilltop Recording Studios in Nashville in November 1979 and released in 1980 on CMH Records (CMH-6241), is the first album by Curly Seckler & The Nashville Grass following the death of Lester Flatt in May 1979. Seckler — a founding member of Flatt & Scruggs's Foggy Mountain Boys — assumed leadership of the Nashville Grass and kept the traditional bluegrass sound intact. The lineup includes Clarence "Tater" Tate (fiddle, vocals), Kenny Ingram (banjo), and Pete Corum (bass), with a teenage Marty Stuart serving as both producer and lead instrumentalist — an early signal of his extraordinary versatility. Guest appearances by Johnny Cash on two tracks add historical weight to this direct continuation of the Flatt & Scruggs lineage.
