Take Me Back, released on Sugar Hill in 1988, is a duo album from siblings Tim and Mollie O'Brien. Tim, then the lead singer and mandolinist of Hot Rize, and Mollie, a singer with a warm, flexible voice rooted in folk and blues as much as bluegrass, drew on the close blood-harmony that only siblings raised on the same songs produce. The record reaches across old-time, traditional country, and folk material rather than staying inside straight bluegrass, a breadth that would mark the pair's work together for years.
