"The Butcher Shoppe EP," released in March 2019 on Rounder Records (1166100493), is a six-track live and studio recording by Della Mae — the Boston-founded all-female bluegrass quintet of Celia Woodsmith (vocals), Kimber Ludiker (fiddle), Avril Smith (guitar), Jenni Lyn Gardner (mandolin), and Zoe Guigueno (bass) — recorded at The Butcher Shoppe Studio in Nashville. Banjo virtuoso Alison Brown and guitarist Molly Tuttle appear as guests. Conceived as a fan-service project between studio albums, the EP revisits catalog favorites and showcases the band's instrumental depth alongside the added prestige of Brown's banjo work. NPR gave it a First Listen feature on release. The EP fills the gap between "Della Mae" (2015) and "Headlight" (2020) and offers one of the most intimate snapshots of the band's performing chemistry.
