The Del McCoury Band's The Company We Keep, released on McCoury Music (MCM 0002) in 2005, won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2006—the label's second release and already a Grammy winner. Del McCoury plays guitar and sings; Ronnie McCoury, mandolin; Rob McCoury, banjo; Jason Carter, fiddle; and Mike Bub, upright bass—his final studio album with the band before Alan Bartram joined. The title references the record's galaxy of guests: Sam Bush, David Grisman, Jesse McReynolds, Bobby Osborne, Ricky Skaggs, Frank Wakefield, and Buck White, among others. The MCM 0001 and MCM 0002 releases represent one of the most decorated consecutive debut sequences in contemporary bluegrass label history.
