The Morning Glory Ramblers was released on 20 April 2004, by Plectrafone Records, the old-time country division of Western Jubilee Recording Company, and by Dualtone (80302-01160-2). Norman and Nancy Blake had first recorded together in 1974, and the album was nominated for a Grammy Award.

The seventeen tracks run from “The Sunny Side of Life” and “Dark & Stormy Weather” to “When the Roses Bloom in Dixieland,” “Short Life of Trouble” and “Dry Bones.” Many will be familiar from the repertoire of the Carter Family and the Blue Sky Boys, and the pair play instruments dating from the early decades of the twentieth century, including a mandolin built in 1915. Norman Blake is credited with guitar, dobro, mandolin and vocals, and Nancy Blake with guitar and vocals. Nancy recites “Men With Broken Hearts,” a song Hank Williams wrote under his “Luke the Drifter” name.
