The Woodshed Sessions, Vol. 1 is a 2014 self-released recording by Wood & Wire, an Austin, Texas bluegrass quartet. Tony Kamel (guitar, vocals), Dom Fisher (bass, vocals), Trevor Smith (banjo, vocals), and Billy Bright (mandolin)—who produced and provided the recording location, his "Mando Cave" in Fisher, Texas—recorded six tracks live in one room with a single microphone, capturing the direct, unmediated sound that would define the band's early identity. Formed in 2011, Wood & Wire subsequently earned a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album at the 61st Grammy Awards in 2019.
